When I’m out antiquing I come across so many fun and unusual pieces. Some I can’t live without and others I just admire.
Here’s a grab bag of fantastic finds from my latest road trip.
I think the theme from my last trip may have been hand made. This water ski (although not really hand made) was covered in a red, white and blue theme but someone added mismatched hooks to make it a fun piece for wet beach towels or patriotic mud room decor. My husband would call it honky-tonk but I would say in the right space what a fun piece to add some one-of-a-kind.
Each of these hand done needlepoint chairs has a different pattern. Each chair is made from mahogany with a dark patina. They were in near perfect condition with just a slight pulling on the edge of the needlepoint chair on the right. I don’t have a spot for them but can completely picture them in a breakfast nook with my four kids sitting quietly at the table – minus the quietly part.
If you’ve been shopping on my site you may have spotted these hand carved wood coasters. They didn’t actually started out as coasters but I purchased a bundle of these scallops at a closing sale at a marine antiques shop. I love the color of the wood and that each block slightly varies in it’s carving.
My grab bag is full for today. Check back to catch a peek at next Friday’s Finds!
